@beanswinterleycoffee is a brand-new coffee shop in Winterley, Sandbach! A good friend of mine recently opened the shop and wanted something unique to replace the typical letter pin board. We put our heads together and came up with this concept with the help of some Pinterest ideas!

CONCEPT


The idea was to create a large wooden-effect pin board that would complement the warm, welcoming interior of the coffee shop. It needed to be clear and easy to read for customers, while also fitting perfectly with the shop’s ethos and design.

PRODUCTION


With the sample letters in hand, I worked with a colleague to calculate the exact size and spacing for the holes. We cut a sheet of oak-faced veneer MDF down to the specified size, then I pre-oiled the surface—this step was crucial, as oiling after drilling would have caused the holes to swell.

Next, my colleague set up the CAD program to mark out all the holes precisely. Once complete, I delivered the finished board to the shop, mounted it securely to the wall with battens, and the installation was done!

The result is a bespoke, practical, and eye-catching feature that not only serves its purpose but also enhances the overall look and feel of the café.
